Surface and Interface Resilience
Designed for urban density, climate pressure, aging populations and next generation hygiene materials.
Hygiene Must Evolve
Urbanization, demographic aging and environmental pressure are reshaping exposure patterns at a global scale.
High density environments increase repeated contact with particles, pollutants, biological residues and exposed surfaces.
At the same time, aging skin and mucosal adjacent tissues may present reduced barrier integrity, altered surface balance, higher sensitivity and slower recovery after repeated exposure.
Climate warming adds a third layer of pressure.
Rising temperatures, heat waves, pollution peaks, wildfire particles, longer pollen seasons and increased aeroallergen exposure may intensify daily stress on skin, nasal adjacent zones and fragile biological interfaces.
In parallel, hygiene materials are evolving.
The industry is moving from passive absorbent supports toward functional nonwovens, invisible multilayer systems, controlled deposition surfaces and biologically compatible materials capable of interacting locally with the user.
This transition creates a new need.
Hygiene can no longer rely solely on elimination.
It must help reinforce, protect and preserve biological interfaces.
What Is Augmented Hygiene?
Augmented Hygiene is a resilience oriented approach to hygiene.
It is designed to support exposed biological interfaces without disrupting existing hygiene gestures.
It is based on three complementary principles:
Local functional barrier reinforcement
Microbiome compatible protection
Surface and interface resilience
This framework enables the development of functional hygiene systems for daily use products, nonwovens, tissues, wipes, absorbent supports and hygiene adjacent materials.
The ViroBiome™ Platform
ViroBiome™ is a modular plant derived bioactive platform engineered for industrial scalability.
It is designed for local, non systemic interaction with exposed biological interfaces and functional hygiene materials.
The platform is positioned around functional biological barriers, reduced exposure, microbiome preservation and surface interface logic rather than aggressive antimicrobial or disinfectant approaches.
Core Technology
ViroBiome™ Safety = HTR1
A patented, non proteinic, plant derived complex designed to support localized surface protection, functional barrier reinforcement and biological interface balance.
ViroBiome™ Safety acts as the foundational surface protection layer of the ViroBiome™ platform.
It is intended for localized use, without systemic positioning, and can be integrated into daily use hygiene and interface protection systems.
Application Modules
ViroBiome™ Shield
Longer Contact Lipid Barrier Module
ViroBiome™ Shield combines ViroBiome™ Safety with ViroBiome™ CERA, a plant based rapeseed ceramide complex.
It includes rapeseed ceramides together with their associated membrane phospholipids, supporting lipid cohesion, surface comfort and barrier resilience.
ViroBiome™ Shield is particularly relevant for:
Functional nonwovens
Wipes
Tissues
Absorbent hygiene materials
Feminine hygiene
Incontinence care
Baby care
Skin contact supports
Barrier oriented hygiene systems
ViroBiome™ Protect
Short Contact and Rinse Off Module
ViroBiome™ Protect combines ViroBiome™ Safety with ViroBiome™ Pepti, a rapeseed derived peptide hydrolysate.
Because Peptides de colza require controlled exposure, this module is reserved for rinse off, wipe off or short contact applications.
ViroBiome™ Protect is particularly relevant for:
Rinse off hygiene products
Short contact cleansing systems
Intimate wash formulations
Controlled exposure wipes
Professional protocols with defined contact time
It should not be positioned for prolonged dermal contact, occlusive systems, long wear textiles, incontinence, baby care or extended release nonwoven applications without dedicated systemic exposure and cardiovascular safety assessment.
Advanced Surface Architecture
ViroBiome™ is developing proprietary multilayer and compartmentalized functional architectures designed to support localized bioactive interaction, controlled surface dynamics and next-generation hygiene materials.
These advanced structures are intended to facilitate the transition from passive absorbent materials toward biologically interactive interface systems compatible with large-scale industrial manufacturing.
It supports the industrial transition from passive absorbent materials to structured bio-interface systems.
Strategic Focus Areas
ViroBiome™ is now focused on priority sectors where functional hygiene and biological interface protection are becoming increasingly strategic:
Functional nonwovens
Wipes
Tissues
Absorbent protection
Feminine hygiene

From Conventional Hygiene to Augmented Hygiene
Conventional Hygiene
Eliminate.
Augmented Hygiene
Reinforce. Modulate. Preserve.
ViroBiome™ enables the transition from elimination-based chemistry toward resilience-oriented biological interface systems.
One Health Alignment
ViroBiome™ is aligned with a One Health perspective connecting human barrier resilience, microbiome integrity, plant-derived innovation and environmental responsibility.
We believe surface microbiomes are not passive contaminants.
They are active defensive ecosystems.
Future biological protection systems should increasingly take inspiration from natural living mechanisms rather than rely only on aggressive biocidal approaches.
